This would only apply when using their individually calibrated profiles however, due to them having different EQ curves for the left and right channels: This is because Waves NX infringes Sonarworks L/R correction curves, blends them together, and makes headphone correction unexpectedly distorted. Sonarworks Reference should always be the last signal chain element before audio enters the headphones. Their explanation for this is as follows (quote from a YouTube comment by them):

Is there a way I can import my own headphone IR (K712) to Nx or are there plugins that offer the ability to incorporate my own? I have also noticed that Nx in particular offer headphone correction IR’s for select headphone models, however I use AKG K712 Pro’s for my open back headphone’s and it doesn’t have a preset for that particular model. I know this is not in anyway a replacement however I figured I’d give it a crack. I have been looking into various plugins such as Nx Virtual Mix Room that simulate mix rooms for headphone mixing.
The nature of my current occupation (electrician) requires me to travel for a few days here and there which means I don’t have access to my home studio at all times. Can you apply custom headphone EQ’s to Nx Virtual Vix Room or is it better to use reference 4 (before or after?) in addition to Nx?
